The term "saddle-stitching" originates from the method of binding the booklet. In the production process, the pages of the booklet are positioned over a device resembling a saddle.
This name has endured over time, and nowadays, any bookbinding process utilizing wire staples is commonly known as saddle-stitching.
Saddle-stitch binding employs two staples to secure the book, whereas perfect bound books utilize glue for binding.
Saddle stitching is optimal for booklets containing 76 pages or fewer, imparting a substantial feel even to thinner ones.
